A groundbreaking ceremony recently was held for MacDon’s new research and development facility in Sun Prairie, Wisconsin. MacDon specializes in the manufacture of harvesting equipment.
The 15,000-square-foot research-and-development facility related to the manufacturing of agricultural harvesting equipment should open in the fall. MacDon’s growth plans for the next five years could result in 20 skilled competitive-wage jobs in the Madison region, according to the Sun Prairie Chamber of Commerce.
“MacDon is excited to be making a long-term commitment to the city of Sun Prairie and the Madison area, Dane County and the state of Wisconsin,” said Neil Barnett, manager for MacDon’s Madison-area operations.
MacDon’s local project partners are the city of Sun Prairie, the Madison Region Economic Partnership, the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation, Broadwing Advisors, Harmony Construction, Angus Young Architects, and Kevin Shinners of the University of Wisconsin-Madison’s College of Agriculture and Life Sciences.
MacDon is headquartered in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Its products are distributed and supported worldwide from offices in Canada, the United States, Australia, Russia, Brazil and Germany.
