An open house and horticulture field day will be hosted from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Aug. 18 by the University of Wisconsin-West Madison Agricultural Research Station, 8502 Mineral Point Road, Verona, Wisconsin.
At this free event visitors can tour the station’s vineyard, vegetable garden and flowerbeds. They can also taste-test fruits and vegetables. UW experts will share information and answer questions. They will discuss pollinators and beneficial insects, plant diseases, turfgrass and gardening. Visitors will hear about cut-flower research, including sunflowers and zinnias grown in hoophouses versus fields.
