Jenlar Holsteins and Brown Swiss of Chilton, Wisconsin, will soon host the 34th-annual Calumet County “Sundae on the Farm.” Sundae on the Farm is a family event with free admission.
Special attractions include live music, an artisan-cheese display, guided farm tours, tractor-wagon rides, butter churning and multiple booth displays. A kiddie tractor pull will be held with registration at 11:30 a.m. and the pull at 12:30 p.m. A Kid’s Zone Area will include games, craft projects and a sand pile. Burgers and grilled cheese sandwiches will be available for purchase throughout the day along with ice cream sundaes. Cheese and milk will be free all day.
Visitors to Sundae on the Farm will be able to view the dairy operation and meet the farm owners, Andy and Joan Meyer, along with Larry and Jennifer Meyer, and their three children Brianna, Austin and Abby. The Meyer family milks 120 cows. The family invested in robots in 2017 to milk their Holstein and Brown Swiss cows. Visitors can observe the cows being milked by robots.
The event will be held from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. June 23. Parking will be at Chilton High School, 530 W. Main St., Chilton. Buses will transport attendees to the host-farm site. A handicapped-accessible bus will be available to transport people as needed.
