One of the city’s most stable events, the annual alumni banquet, will have a change of venue this year.
Tekamah-Herman Alumni Association president Leslee Brenneis said proposed renovation work at Tekamah City Auditorium led the association to seek new quarters for the 2019 banquet.
The annual affair is the Saturday of Memorial Day weekend, May 25, 2019, 5:30-7:30 p.m.
Instead of the auditorium, the banquet will be held at the high school. And instead of a sit-down banquet, it will be more like an open house.
The association still will recognize this year’s honored classes: 2019, 2009, 1994, 1969 and 1959, but in a different way, Brenneis said
Class group pictures, a meal, building tours and memorabilia all will be part of this year’s event.
Tickets are $12 and go on sale April 17. Everyone is welcome to attend.
Gathering classes should contact Brenneis at 402-870-1283 for ticket or other related information.
