A special meeting of the Craig Village Board was held in the Village Office on August 28, 2019. In compliance with state law, advance notices of the meeting were posted three places: the post office, on the door of the Craig village office and at the community center. All board members were present. There were two items on agenda.
In one, approval was given for proceeding with SEARCH grant application. This grant will pay for an engineering report regarding the village’s water system needs. It is one step in the long process to obtain grant funds and/or low interest loans for water system improvements, thus insuring the delivery of safe water at a reasonable pressure to village residents. A filing deadline necessitated action before the next board meeting.
The second item up for consideration, was reviewing two bids for window replacements at the Craig Community Center (also known as ‘the gym’). The board decided to go with the slightly higher bid of $3,960.75, as opposed to the bid of $3,297.24, due to the inclusion of safety glass for the two large windows on the south gym wall. Two of the kitchen windows will also be replaced. The board voted that the west window will have obscure glass and the south one will be clear. Completion of window installation by Lindy Glass is anticipated this fall.
