Tekamah-Herman’s national Honor Society chapter is sponsoring a fundraiser on March 5 for the Tekamah Area Food Pantry and Tekamah-Herman Backpack Program. All proceeds and donations will go to these organizations. The event starts at 6:30 p.m. Admission is two items to donate to the food pantry or $5. All money raised will be donated to the food bank.

Some acceptable food items include peanut butter, jelly, pancake mix, pancake syrup, cans of soup, cans of tuna/chicken, cereal, chicken/tuna helper, plastic bottles of juice, etc, but please, no glass containers.

Central to the evening is a Students vs. Staff basketball game.

All this week, students may bring an item to donate to the food bank or the backpack program and enter the 3-point shooting contest or knock-out contest that will be held during the game. There will be prizes awarded to the winners in both contests. You can also enter at the game by bringing extra items to donate. The more items you bring, the more chances you have for the three-point shoot-out, everyone who enters will participate in the Knock-Out Challenge.

Tickets can also be purchased to participate in the halfcourt shootout challenge for a chance to win cash. There will also be shoot for a pop contest at halftime. For $1 students can shoot a free throw to win a two-liter bottle of pop.
