The start of school means the start of the fall sports seasons at schools across Nebraska.

At Tekamah-Herman, practice for the football, volleyball and softball teams all were scheduled to start on Monday, Aug. 12.

The T-H softball team needs to find its game face in a hurry. The Tigers host their annual public scrimmage Aug. 17 before traveling to Fort Calhoun for a jamboree game on Aug. 20. Jamborees are played across the state in a variety of sports as a fundraiser for the Nebraska High School Sports Hall of Fame.

The season starts for real two nights later when Ashland-Greenwood visits Carson Field.

The Tiger volleyball squad hosts a jamboree match with Ashland-Greenwood on Monday, Aug. 26, before opening the season at home Aug. 29 against BRLD.

The football team opens on the road at Ponca Aug. 30.
