Choke cherries

Lemons, chopped

1 box Sure-Jell

4 cups sugar

1 teaspoon almond flavoring

Grind the raw, cleaned choke cherries through the food chopper. Add 2 whole lemons, chopped, to every gallon of ground choke cherries. Cover with boiling water to 1-1/4 inches over the top. Let stand. Next day drain and squeeze lightly.

To 3-1/2 cups juice, add 1 box Sure-Jell. Bring to a rolling boil. Add 4 cups sugar all at once. Bring to a full rolling boil. Boil 10 more minutes. Add 1 teaspoon almond flavoring. Pour into jars and seal while hot.
