Sept. 5, 2022: Signs abound of dwindling moisture

We’ve been lucky to have frequent rains throughout the year, but there’s not much subsoil moisture. Pastures, lawns and crops are starting to show signs that they’re running out. The sunny, warm and windy weather has helped move along the corn crop, and even some early maturity beans are starting to turn in color. I would guess by my next report some combines will have nosed into a few corn fields.
