The weather was good the first half of the week, but the last half was wet and cold, with a frost warning for Sunday (April 14). My son John planted 240 acres of corn, some of the first planted in the area. No beans have been planted yet, though. The wheat is growing and looks really good. My son Brian has been spreading nitrogen on our wheat and chemicals on the corn ground. One of the farmers here in the county had nitrogen flown on his wheat this week. I've enjoyed the first lettuce and radishes from the cold frame in our garden.
