Cereal Nut Cookies

1 C. granulated sugar

1 C. brown sugar

1 C. butter, softened

1 T. buttermilk

1 egg

1 C. cooking oil

1 1/2 tsp. vanilla

3 1/2 C. flour

1 tsp. salt

1 tsp. baking soda

1 C. oatmeal, quick or regular

Frosted Flakes cereal, crushed to make 1 C.

1 C. chopped pecans (optional)

Beat sugars and butter together. Add buttermilk, egg, cooking oil and vanilla. Combine salt and soda into flour before mixing with rest of batter. Mix in oatmeal, cereal and pecans. Chill dough for 30-60 minutes.

Shape dough into balls on a lightly greased cookie sheet. Place in 350° oven for 9-11 minutes. Cool slightly on sheet before removing to a rack to cool. Makes about 36 cookies, depending upon desired size.

Cookie dough keeps well refrigerated in Tupperware.
