Vilsack named USDA secretary

Tom Vilsack was officially approved as the U.S. Secretary of Agriculture today. 

Soybeans saw continued “sharply higher” movement to lead grains on the day, with corn trading around unchanged and wheat seeing bouts of profit taking and technical buying, Ami Heesch of CHS Hedging said.

Outside of commodities, Wall Street markets were on the defensive today as oil saw strength, Heesch said.
