WILBER, Neb. — Multimin USA along with Nebraska Extension is sponsoring the “Management Strategies for the Cow Herd” at the Lutheran Church Fellowship Hall in Wilber on Tuesday, Feb. 19 from 1 to 4:30 p.m. Nebraska Extension and Mutilmin USA will discuss management strategies to alleviate costs or improve management in your system.

Extension educator Brad Schick, will discuss management of perennial grass management and options for seeding perennial grasses in lowly profitable crop ground. Knowing how to stock cornstalks and how to determine a rental rate agreement while utilizing cornstalks will be presented by Kristen Ulmer, Extension Educator. Considering the management challenges on forages this past fall, Mary Drewnoski, Extension beef systems specialist, will discuss strategies to reduce health risks of cattle on a fall annual forage. Finally to round out the afternoon, Randy Pryor will introduce a producer panel that will discuss their perspectives and experience to managing forage resources for cattle.
