In Henry Ford’s words “Coming together is the beginning. Keeping together is progress. Working together is success.” This rang true when a team of Wahlstrom Ford in Chadron, Neb., pulled into Fremont to help a fellow Ford dealer’s community.
“Words cannot express how grateful our community is for the generosity from Wahlstrom Ford and the Chadron, Nebraska, individuals, groups and businesses who provided the donations that were brought to Fremont on Saturday,” said Jodi Bruce of Diers Ford in Fremont. Bruce worked with Wahlstrom Ford’s A.J. Huffman throughout the week relaying what the current needs were in Fremont.
The crew left Chadron early Saturday morning and arrived in Fremont with three vehicles and a trailer containing more than $60,000 worth of supplies, including shop vacuums, bleach, mops, brooms, sponges, box fans, a pallet of dog food, linens, gloves and more. After unloading the donated items, they remained at the distribution center for the day to volunteer.
“I can sum this up in one word,” said Charlie Diers, “Wow!”
John Deere dealers
Nebraska’s John Deere agricultural dealers have contributed $60,000 for disaster relief. The donations are being distributed to a variety of programs aiding farmers, ranchers and rural communities. In addition to the contributions, the dealers are each providing additional relief including much needed supplies and equipment.
“It’s important for those facing such widespread destruction to know they have support,” said Kevin Clark, CEO, Plains Equipment Group. “The Deere dealers uniting for a common cause to help our friends and neighbors is really special, and shows the kindness of the people of Nebraska.”
Dealerships pulling together for the relief effort included Landmark Implement, AgriVision Equipment Group, Green Line, Platte Valley Equipment, Stutheit Implement Co., Plains Equipment Group, Grossenburg Implement and 21st Century Equipment LLC.
