Full time college students studying agriculture in Nebraska are invited to apply for a scholarship offered through the Nebraska Pork Producers Association.
The deadline to apply is Nov. 10 at www.nepork.org.
The pork association awards one Larry E. Sitzman Youth in Nebraska Agriculture Scholarship of $1,000 each year. The scholarship is named for the association’s executive director who retired in 2016. Sitzman had a great desire to serve, and agriculture has always been his passion. He is known for sharing his voice defending perspectives and asking challenging questions. Today, he serves as an active volunteer leader at the Veterans Administration in Lincoln.
Scholarship applicants should be enrolled as a full-time undergraduate or graduate student at a Nebraska college, university or technical college in an agriculture related degree program. They must have at least one full year of study remaining toward a degree and have plans to work in the agriculture industry upon graduation.
Selection will be based on qualities of leadership and participation in collegiate or extracurricular activities related to the agriculture industry.
