1-1/2 cups sugar

1/2 cup butter

1 egg, beaten

1 cup buttermilk

1 teaspoon soda

1 teaspoon vanilla

2-1/2 cups flour

1/2 teaspoon salt

3 cups rhubarb, sliced

3/4 cup brown sugar

1/2 cup walnuts or pecans, chopped

Cream sugar and butter. Add beaten egg. Add buttermilk, soda and vanilla. Mix in flour and salt. Fold in cut-up rhubarb. Pour into greased 9x13" pan. Sprinkle with brown sugar and nuts. Bake 45 minutes at 350 degrees. Test for doneness. When cooled, drizzle with Powdered Sugar Icing.
