University of Minnesota photo beef cows feeding in northern MN

It is most definitely that time of year again. The Super Bowl, Groundhog Day, Valentine’s Day you might ask? No, it’s the time of year for the Cow Calf Days Seminar Tour and Trade Show; coming soon to a town near you – at least in balmy and beautiful southern Minnesota.

The northern half of this 10-stop tour around Minnesota began two weeks ago and brought together the hardiest of the hardy in this great state. Braving cold temperatures and driving snow, the faithful drove to see the latest in information and technology of the cow calf sector of the beef industry.

Some might say it was a might foolish to venture out in such conditions, but let me tell you the University of Minnesota Extension Beef Team will stop at nothing to bring our people what they want for knowledge, expertise and entertainment. Except for the blizzard in Lancaster that brought everything to a screeching halt for a day, the Beef Team powered through with our troupe of faithful industry sponsors that stuck it out for the duration.
