Professional Speaker Jolene Brown, presents “Who’s Hiding the Humor?” Thursday, Aug. 8, 2019, 10:30 a.m. – Noon, Wick Buildings Farmfest Center.

It’s been a crazy, difficult year for many people, so Minnesota Farmfest will host an important figure that is helping agriculture get through this tough time.

Jolene Brown, of West Branch, Iowa, will present, “Who’s Hiding the Humor?” at 10:30 a.m., on Thursday, Aug. 8, in the Wick Buildings Farmfest Center.

“All folks have a sense of humor, it's just that some folks have a bad one! They haven't learned that the benefits of keeping perspective and a sense of humor in a roller coaster year extend to better health, understanding of important issues, stronger support systems and positive relationships,” said Brown in promoting her presentation. “I think we in agriculture are due a respite! If there ever was a time we need to cheer on and support each other, it’s now!”

Brown has been involved in agriculture all of her life, and now flies and drives across the country sharing farming insights. Her books include, “Holy Crap! I Married a Farmer!” and "Sometimes You Need More than a 2X4,” as well as the DVD/workbook set entitled “The Top 10 Mistakes that Break Up a Family Business.”

On Facebook, Brown shares real-life cases of disputing farm families, and she “tells it like it is.” She reminds people that family businesses don’t always treat people fairly, and she wants people to stick up for themselves, honestly.

The presentation at Farmfest, “Who’s Hiding the Humor?” is one of her lighter subjects, but you can be sure that many people will be lined up to talk with her about more difficult subjects after her talk ends.

“So come and bring your family member,” she says. “Pick up your neighbors. It’s time to celebrate who you are and what you do. We’ll laugh while we learn the answer to the question, ‘Who's Hiding the Humor?’”

Jolene Brown is sponsored by IDEAg Group LLC and AgCountry Farm Credit Services. Join her Thursday, Aug. 8, 2019, 10:30 a.m. – Noon, Wick Buildings Farmfest Center.
