1 head cabbage, finely cut

1 stick celery, chopped

1 large carrot, grated

1 large green pepper, chopped, or several small red, yellow or orange peppers to add color

1 small- to medium-sized onion, chopped

For dressing:

Combine equal amounts of sugar, vinegar and oil, along with a 1/4 tsp. salt and a dash of pepper in a shaker container. Shake well. For a full head of cabbage, use 1/2 C. to 2⁄3 C. each of sugar vinegar and oil.
