Farmers interested in using dicamba in 2018 should be aware only certified applicators, or those under direct supervision, will be allowed to apply the product, according to the National Corn Growers Association.

BASF has signed an agreement to acquire parts of Bayer's seed and non-selective herbicide businesses. The purchase price of about E6 billion is subject to certain adjustments at closing. The assets to be acquired include Bayer's global glufosinate-ammonium non-selective herbicide business and its seed businesses for certain row crops. Those seed businesses are canola hybrids in North America under the InVigor brand using LibertyLink trait technology, oilseed rape mainly in European markets, cotton in the Americas and Europe, and soybeans in the Americas. The transaction also includes Bayer's trait-research and breeding capabilities for those crops, and the LibertyLink trait and trademark.
