- 2 cups flour
- 4 tsp baking powder
- ½ tsp cream of tartar
- ½ tsp salt
- 2 tbsp sugar
- 1/2 cup shortening
- 1 egg, beaten
- 2/3 cup milk
- In a bowl, combine flour, baking powder, cream of tartar, salt, and sugar. Cut in shortening.
- In a separate bowl, combine the egg and milk. Stir into the flour mixture. Once the mixture becomes dough, turn out onto a floured surface and knead lightly.
- Cut and bake on ungreased sheet at 425 degrees for 20 minutes.
