Easy Biscuits

  • 2 cups flour
  • 4 tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp cream of tartar
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 1/2 cup shortening
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 2/3 cup milk


  1. In a bowl, combine flour, baking powder, cream of tartar, salt, and sugar. Cut in shortening.
  2. In a separate bowl, combine the egg and milk. Stir into the flour mixture. Once the mixture becomes dough, turn out onto a floured surface and knead lightly.
  3. Cut and bake on ungreased sheet at 425 degrees for 20 minutes.
