Winning the showmanship contest at a national level junior show is one of the highlights of any junior member’s career. Four age divisions of members from the North American Limousin Junior Association competed in the national Limousin showmanship contest on July 1, 2019. The contest was held during the National Junior Limousin Show & Congress, June 29-July 5, 2019 in Springfield, Mo.
Greg Wathall, Windsor, Mo., served as the judge for the contest. Greg and his wife, Pearl, are parents of two adult children and own/operate WW Cattle Company, Windsor, Missouri. Walthall has been active in the Simmental business for over 47 years.
The top 10 showpersons from each age division were selected. Of those top 10:
• Tara Mueller, Hunter, Kan. tied for 10th place in the novice division, ages five to nine.
• Kinnick Paulsen, Preston, Iowa, placed seventh, and Jentry Johnson, Maquoketa, Iowa, placed eighth in the junior division, ages ten to 13.
• McKenna Richardson, Eureka, Kan., placed fourth, and Jade Beeson, Anthon, Iowa, placed seventh in the intermediate showman division, ages 14 to 16.
• Grand champion senior showman went to Chase Ratliff, Westphalia, Kan., reserve champion went to Madison Ratliff, Westphalia, Kan., and Korynn Clason, Beaver City, Neb., placed third in the final division, members ranging in age from 17 to 21.
