DES MOINES — More than $2.6 billion of Iowa soybeans and corn will be purchased by Taiwan, according to letters of intent signed during a ceremony at the Iowa Capitol Sept. 20.

Iowa agriculture secretary Mike Naig, Gov. Kim Reynolds and Johnson Chiang, director general for the Taipei Economic Cultural Office, sign an agreement by which Taiwan pledges to purchase more than $2 billion worth of Iowa corn and soybeans by 2024. The signing happened during a ceremony at the Iowa Capitol in Des Moines Sept. 20.
