OPINION In early October we finally had a glimpse into the Biden administration’s approach to trade when U.S. Trade Representative Ambassador Katherine Tai outlined a “New Approach to the U.S.-China Trade Relationship.” Tai made clear the intention to maintain several policies from the previous administration, including keeping hold of tariffs and zeroing in on enforcement. The stated difference in the new approach is to simultaneously build out more-collaborative efforts with our allies.
